DRESDEN: Larna "Jean" Newell, 75, of Nashport, Ohio went to be with her Lord in heaven on Wednesday evening, March 25, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Carol Sue, in Zanesville.Born November 27, 1939 in Zanesville she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Mildred L. (Cowan) Moyer Nolan and was a 1957 graduate of Zanesville High School. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. Mrs. Newell was retired from Hart's Family Center on Maple Avenue, having worked at the store from the day it opened until the day it closed. She later worked at McKee Insurance Agency until her retirement in 2007.Surviving are two sons, Randy (Jenny) Newell of Zanesville and Steve (Kerri) Newell of Coshocton; two daughters, Carol Sue (Bud) Krouskoupf of Zanesville and Karen (Scott) Devoll of Newark; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Roger Moyer of Glenford, Ronald (Fran) Moyer of Thornville and Jeff (Michelle) Moyer of Duncan Falls; two sisters, Pamela (Bill) Teetz of Hopewell and Cindy (Roy) Wilkinson of Bryceville, Florida; a half-brother, Charles "Bud" (Robin) Moyer of Newark; a half sister, Christina (Tom) Taylor of Garfield Heights; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Dwayne E. Newell whom she married June 22, 1957 and who died April 5, 2009; a son, Bryon Newell; a brother, Gary "Butch" Moyer; and a sister, Sondra Sharpnack.Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Church Cemetery near Dresden. |
