About Larry Jarvis, 61, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Hospice House in Ashland. Born April 15, 1951 in Zanesville, Ohio he was the son of Albert Jarvis, Jr. and Shirley May (Wood) Jarvis. A veteran of the United States Marines, he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam Era. Larry retired from Friend Engineering where he worked as a machinist. He was a very big hearted, loyal person and would help anyone in need. Larry loved the simple things in life. Larry was a member of the Richland Lithnic and Lapidary Club and enjoyed fishing, gardening, western movies and books. A very artistic person, he also enjoyed painting, gem cutting and making jewelry.

He is survived by his wife, Callie (Stidham) Jarvis; daughters, Kimberly (Tony) McFarland and Heather (Gary) Stubbs; sons, Rob (Maria) Montgomery and Chad (Krysta) Montgomery; step daughter, Carla (Robert) Bernard; step son, Brian (Lynn) McPherson; grandchildren, Christian, Morgan, Ariel, Jacob, Jordan, Zach, Austin, Houston, Hayden, Harper, Heather, Morsette, Cecelia, Tori and Allie; great grandchildren, Tyson, Hayden and Jayden; siblings, Rick (Wendy) Jarvis, Bert (Jeannie) Jarvis, Jon (Kelly) Jarvis and Marsha Browning; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Jarvis.

Burial will follow in Little Washington Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
