About Larry Lyle “Gibby” Gibson, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born October 8, 1942, in Zanesville to the late Delmar and Anna Pauline Wolfe Gibson. Gibby was a graduate of Zanesville High School and was the owner/operator of Ridge Avenue Furniture and Appliances for nearly 40 years. He was a millwright by trade, and in his free time he liked to go antiquing, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed birds and bird watching, especially his martins and hummingbirds. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a Christian by faith and rededicated his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and dearly loved his church family Faith Christian Center. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Marine Corp.

Surviving is his wife Melodie Hartman Gibson; his children: Gregory Hartman and Wendy (John) Matheney; daughter in law Amy Hartman; brother Danny Lee Gibson of Costa Rica; grandchildren: Joshua and Tanner Hartman, Allison and Lauren Hartman, and Hannah and Haley Matheney; brothers and sisters in law: Gray and Rapsodie Adams, Claudette and Michael Shilling, Fred and Jamie Hartman and Carl Hartman; several nieces and nephews; and special son and granddaughter in the Lord: Seth and Blake Klein.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Allen Hartman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Christian Center, 4200 Boggs Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8PM Friday, October 14 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE and from 10 to 11AM on Saturday, October 15. Funeral services will begin at 11AM, Saturday, October 15 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Chuck Gamble and Pastor Gray Adams officiating. Military honors will follow the service.
