| About | Larry Thomas passed peacefully into the arms of Christ on April 16 2014 in Bonita Springs, FL, surrounded by his wife Charlotte and children Eric Thomas and Sara Barnwell. He was one of five children born to Margaret and Ernest Thomas on March 7, 1930. Losing his mother at age six, he lived with and was loved by grandparents and aunts. Especially influenced by his maternal grandfather Deitrick who instilled a strong work ethic, Larry graduated from Zanesville's Lash High School and The Ohio State University College of Law, J.D. He served in the US Army 1950-53 in Counter Intelligence. He began his career as a Special Agent in the FBI and retired in 1995 as Litton Industries Chief Labor Negotiator in Beverly Hills, CA. At OSU he held membership in Sigma Chi and Phi Delta Phi fraternities. Larry was at home on any golf course, especially with his buddies at Belmont Hills in St. Clairsville, OH and Imperial Golf Club in Naples, FL. Larry valued membership at Bay Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs and Nottingham Presbyterian Church in Cadiz, OH. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; children, Eric Thomas of Fort Myers Beach, FL and Sara (Bo) Barnwell of Santa Fe, NM; and his chief delight, granddaughters, Bronwyn and Merritt Barnwell. Also surviving are his sisters, Virginia Mattingly, Martha Stemm and Shirley Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. His brother Bill passed 2013. A memorial service will be held at Stovertown, South Zanesville, OH on May 31, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Anderson officiating.
