Larry Philip Evans, 69, went to be with his Lord, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Genesis Hospice surrounded by loving family. Larry was born April 8, 1944 in Zanesville to the late George W. and Permila (Kleinhoffer) Evans. He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1964. Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was also a dedicated member of the Anchor Church for over 40 years. He will be sadly missed by wife, Virginia 'Ginny' (Lavy) Evans, whom he married October 16, 2011; daughter, Annette Evans; step-children, Jennifer (Robert) Stoop of Zanesville, Michele Knight of Lancaster and Jason (Tiffini) Knight of Creston, IA; two grandchildren, Tabitha (Adam) Smith and Keith Alexander; six step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie (Paul) Yost, Dixie (Clifford) Mills; brothers, Louis (Mary) Evans, Nelson (Etta) Evans and Jerry (Martha) Evans.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Patricia (Tayhi) Evans who died February 18, 2010; brothers, Lloyd, George, Paul, Herbert and Albert Evans and sisters, Betty and Mildred Evans and daughter, Theresa Dunlap Alexander. Viewing will be Friday, March 7, 2014 beginning at 9 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Anchor Church, 1365 Chamberlain Street. With minister Aaron Bounds officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites by the Zanesville VFW. |
