| About | Leonard E. McFarland, 60, of Dresden took the hand of Jesus and followed him to the promised land in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 7, 2012. Born March 6, 1951, Leonard was the son of the late Leonard and Virginia McFarland. Lenny retired from the Shelley Material Company after 28 years as a truck driver. He was a member of the Word of Life Church in Zanesville. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his generous spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends more than anything and loved tinkering around in his garage. He is survived by his soul-mate and best friend of 33 years, Gloria; one daughter, Kimberly (Howard) Rock; four sons, Leonard W. McFarland, Eric 'Doug' (Heidi) Doyle, Jeff (Tobi) Doyle and Scott (Andrea) Doyle; two brothers, Cecil (Freda) Lake of Philippi, W Va, Gerald P. (Barb) McFarland of Bellaire, Ohio; four sisters, Norma Nickell and Mary Sheppard both of Zanesville, Barbara McFarland of Coshocton and Jackie (Dwight) Newell of Trinway; 9 grandchildren and one great-grandson; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney E. McFarland and a sister Linda Cox. Burial will be in the Dresden Cemetery. |
