About Lou Nova Taylor, 69, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care in Zanesville.

Lou was affectionately known as "Big Lou". Lou was born January 10, 1941 in Zanesville to the late Lee Roy and Margaret Ellen Caplinger Taylor. Before retirement he was employed by Putnam Transfer as a truck driver.

He was a 1960 graduate of Zanesville High School, was an avid sports fan but the love of his life was golf. He got his 8th hole–in-one in 2009. He loved fast pitch softball and played for Goss Brothers. He was a member of the Eagles. He lived 30 years in Crooksville. Lou was previously married 25 years but there were no children of this marriage. Lou served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Lou is survived by his brothers: Clyde (Donna) Taylor of Cleveland, William O. (Mary) Taylor of Zanesville and Kenneth Taylor of Zanesville; a sister, Barbara Hanning of Zanesville; sister-in-law, Kay Taylor of Zanesville; uncle, Earnest (Mary) Caplinger of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents; Lou was preceded in death by his brothers: Donnie Dean, Jerry Lee and Emmett Everett Taylor; a sister, Leora Mac; nieces, Diana Lynn Harlan and Sue Ann Taylor; and a sister-in-law, April Williams.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. Military Rd., Zanesville. The Eagles will conduct a service at 6:30 p.m. Services will be officiated by Bill Meaige in the Snouffer Chapel at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010. The George Selsam VFW Post 1058 will conduct military rites at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Swift Cemetery near Beverly, Ohio.
