| About | Louis W. (Pon) Smith, 63, of Zanesville and Naples, Fl, died Thursday, February 26, 1998, in Naples. Born May 27, 1934, in Zanesville, he was a former math teacher at Zanesville High School and was a math instructor at Ohio University-Zanesville. He was the former owner and operator of Northside Beach and served as former score keeper for sports at Zanesville High School. He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1952 and Ohio University in 1956. Attended Michigan State University and San Diego State and received his masters degree at LSU and attended North Terrace Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Erickson Smith of the home; two daughters, Shannon (Tom) Shelton and Dana (Jeff) Elkins, both of Zanesville, two sons, Scott (Janet) Smith of Zanesville and Todd "Boo" (Evelyn) Smith of Nashport, one sister, Suzanne (Jim) Martin of Zanesville, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard W. "Harpo" and Helen Smith of Columbus, James W. Smith of Naples, FL, and Daniel W. "Hack" and Betty smith of Zanesville, 10 grandchildren, and a lifetime friend, Andy Lang of Zanesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel W. and Clara M. Sharrock Smith and one son, Timothy D. Smith, who died March 10, 1988 Burial will be in Memorial Park. |
