| About | Lydia A. Vinsel (nee Lancaster), of North Ft. Myers, Florida, passed peacefully at her son's residence in Elwood, Illinois, Sunday, June 20, 2010. Age 81 years. She is survived by her three sons, Lance (Patty) of Elwood, IL, Lex (Deborah) of Olympia, WA, and Lon of Columbus, OH; and eight grandchildren, Lee (Abigail Middleton), Jacob, Hannah, Rachel Vinsel, Jessica (Travis) Jones, Stefanie, Emily and Zachary Vinsel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren E. Vinsel (1991); two sons, Loren Jr., and Lee Eric; two brothers, Robert and Murray Lancaster; and two sisters, Ruth Woerner and Nancy Simpson. Lydia was born in Zanesville, Ohio, December 27, 1928 to Ralph Phipps and Mary Catherine Lancaster. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, Florida and was active with the church choir and Women of the Bible. She lived in the Lake Fairways Community of North Ft. Myers and was active in Aquacise and Singles in the Park. A memorial service will be held at 11:15 a.m. July 5, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Zanesville, Ohio. Family visitation will be held before the service in the Church parlor from 9-11 a.m. A private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your local Hospice organization. |
