About | Marie A. Roberts, 79, of Perrysburg and formerly of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at her home, Sunday, September 5, 2010. Marie was born in Zanesville on October 3, 1930 to Theodore P. and Thelma (Menhorn) Joswick and was a 1949 graduate of Lash High School. She married Bernard Roberts on July 7, 1950 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zanesville. Marie was a loving wife and mother. After her children had grown Marie, affectionately known as "Mimi", tended to the children of several Perrysburg families. She encouraged her children and those she cared for to pursue the arts. Marie herself was an accomplished artist who loved to sketch various objects including trees, make crafts and tend to her plants both indoors and outdoors. She along with her husband, Bernard, was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Oregon. She is survived by her husband, Bernard; daughters, Mari Michael Richard of Windsor, CA, Martha "Marti" Anne (Thomas) Palenske of Holland, OH; son, Bernard "Bob" (Teresa) Roberts, Jr. of West Chester, OH; granddaughters, Emily, Becca and Madison Roberts; sister-in-law, Phyllis Roberts; brother-in-law, Gerald Roberts; and uncles, William and Eugene Menhorn; along with several dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sandy Wuwert and Bev Butterweck. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Thelma; brothers, Theodore E. and Paul W. Joswick; and sister, Wanda I. Smith. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park. |
