| About | Marjorie Elaine Hannahs, 88, of Zanesville passed away at 12:28 PM Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Oaks at Bethesda. She was born May 25, 1925 in Bethlehem, PA the only child of the late Roy and Beatrice Thompson Phillips. Marjorie moved to Zanesville as a toddler. She graduated from Lash High School in 1943 where she played the accordion in the marching band. She previously worked for Ohio Bell Telephone and was a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ. In the early 1940’s she was the Times Recorder bathing beauty of the week. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 67 years Ernest J. “Ernie” Hannahs, sons: Gary (Shirley) Hannahs of Howard, OH and Ted Hannahs of Reynoldsburg, daughter: Barbara Gifford of Zanesville, six grandchildren and four great granddaughters. Preceding her in death were her parents and son: Jimmy. Visitation for Marjorie will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday April 18, 2014 and one hour prior to services at 1:00 PM Saturday April 19, 2014 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave with Evangelist Lester Hurst officiating. She will be buried next to her beloved son, Jimmy, who died at age 3 in Memorial Park Cemetery. |
