| About | Mary Ann Christy, 79 of Zanesville, died 7:53 AM, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born Saturday, October 21, 1944, in Zanesville, the daughter of Raymond Applegate and Mary Eleanor (Wilson) Applegate, and was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church. Mary Ann was a Girl Scout Leader, Committee Member for the Boy Scouts of America, volunteered for Eastside Community Ministries, belonged to Greater Zanesville Singers and was very active in Zanie Follies for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Clever) Ruppel and her husband Ken Ruppel; one son, Richard Clever; grandchildren, Caitlin Ruppel and Derek Ruppel; special friends, Teresa Huff, and Lois Freeman. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by one brother, Allan David Applegate; one half brother, Raymond Applegate and her good friends, Kay Marshall and Robert Lett. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, January 5, 2023, the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Applegate Family Plots at Greenwood Cemetery. |
