About | Mary Eileen Schneider, 88 of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born December 8, 1923 in Zanesville to the late Jay Russell and Kathryn E. Greten Queen. Mary Eileen was a graduate of Lash High School and Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She was a WWII army nurse, serving as a second Lieutenant in the Philippines and Japan. After returning from military service, she worked as a private duty nurse and as a homemaker. Surviving is her husband, William E. Schneider; and her children, William R. Schneider (Marilyn Bradshaw) of Athens, Susan (Michael) Mahaney of Helotes, TX, Thomas (Brenda Lloyd) Schneider of Columbus, Beth (Tony) Brown of Cincinnati; daughter-in-law; Barbara Schneider of Nashport; grandchildren, Meghan and Trevor Mahaney of Texas, Amy (Jared) Lepi of Nashport, Kathryn, Austin, Mackenzie, and Anthony Brown of Cincinnati; step-grandchildren, Gretel Lloyd-Tisdall, Jon Witzky and Erin Witzky all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Dustin and Claire Lepi of Nashport. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Josef M. Schneider; grandson, Andrew Schneider; sister, Patty Queen Burgess; and brother, Rex Queen. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Stephen Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. |
