| About | Mary Frances Cooper, aka Francie, 76, died from complications of a health condition on May 24, 2021 at Kaiser Zion in San Diego, CA. Francie was born on November 20, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to George N. & Mary E. (Boyd) Morris. She grew up in Zanesville, OH where she graduated from Zanesville High in 1962 before continuing on to Ohio State. She met her future husband, US Airman James M. Cooper, in 1964 at a USO dance, and they were married on September 10, 1966. Being an Air Force wife allowed her to travel the world and experience new cultures. After her husband retired from the Air Force in 1983, Francie worked for the Cajon Valley School District in El Cajon, CA for 32 years before retiring in 2016. Her retirement allowed her the chance once again to travel with her loving husband by her side, experiencing new adventures and visiting places that were on her wish list of destinations. Francie and Jim shared 54 years of wedded bliss, and along the way she became a mother to three loving children, Amber L. Nelson, M. Todd Cooper, and Samantha M. Hansen, and two wonderful daughters-in-law, Nichole L. Cooper and Laurie C. Nelson. Additionally, she was a grandmother of six delightful grandchildren, Steven, Kyrsten, Ashlee, Aaron (Paige), Olivia, and Jay, and great-grandmother to Barrett, born this month to grandson Aaron and his wife Paige. In addition to her parents, Francie was preceded in death by her sisters Sarah Sims and Edith Boggs. She is survived not only by her husband, kids, grand- and great-grandkids, but also her mother-in-law Fern Marie Belden, sisters-in-law Theresa Newton & Donna Disciscio, best friend and chosen sister Mary Power Siddell, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Unfortunately, no services will be held at this time. However, a Celebration of Life will be held in August in San Diego, CA.
