About | Mary Joanne Pollock, 92, of Tavares, FL passed away on August 17, 2022. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Zanesville, a small town in Central Ohio where she lived for all but the last five months of her life. Her parents were: George Raymond Watson and Irene Melissa Bowlby. Joanne married her husband Robert E. Pollock in 1955 and they were together 43 years until his death in 1998. Joanne worked as an office manager for Mid-Atlantic Canners in Zanesville for 32 years and also volunteered in various capacities at her Pleasant Grove United Methodist church. Those who knew Joanne well have described her as loyal, determined, pragmatic and self-sufficient. She was a talented artist and her works now adorn the homes of her family. She is survived by her daughter: Cody Pollock (Norm) Spitzig; her son, Robert Watson Pollock; her three grandchildren: Adam Andrew (Claire) Spitzig, Mark Christopher (Colleen) Spitzig and Katie Anne Spitzig (Michael) Thompson) and her five great-grandchildren: Josie Kate Spitzig, Charlotte Christine Spitzig, Molly Colleen Spitzig, Paul Robert Spitzig and Jack Alexander Spitzig. A “Celebration of Joanne’s Life” will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zanesville Memorial Park (1475 Military Road, Zanesville, OH). Joanne’s children and grandchildren will be in attendance, as will many of her long-time Zanesville friends. |
