| About | Matthew B. Robinson, 38, passed away peacefully at 9:15 P.M. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, in the ICU Cardiac Care Unit at Riverside Methodist Hospital with his loving parents at his side. He was born June 7, 1976 in Zanesville, the son of Jim and Judy Robinson. He attended Zanesville City Schools and graduated from Zanesville High School in 1994. While there, he was a member of the varsity basketball and soccer teams. Matt graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Education specializing in Special Education SLD/DH. He received a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in 2002. He furthered his education at Ashland University majoring in Educational Administration. He began his sixteen year teaching career at Greenville City Schools and also taught at Marysville Exempted Village Schools and London City Schools. Matt was presently employed as a Special Education teacher at Zanesville Middle School. He was a member of First Christian Church. Surviving are his parents, Jim and Judy Robinson; brother, Michael all of Zanesville; sister, Beth (Greg) Flickingerof Charlotte, NC; niece, Madelyn Flickinger; nephew, Tyler Flickinger; uncle, Jerry Jolliffe of Parma and several cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bernard and Ruby Robinson, Maurice and Evelyn Smith and aunt, Peggy Jolliffe. In keeping with Matt's wishes, a dignified cremation will take place. Calling hours will be held from 4pm to 7pm at Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville on Wednesday, February 18. A family graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ICU Cardiac Care Unit at Riverside Methodist Hospital, 3535 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214 or the Zanesville Animal Shelter, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. |
