About | Max Richard McGlade, 79, of Zanesville passed away at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Cedar Hill Care Center. Max was born in Dresden, Ohio to the late James W. and Maxine Fulks McGlade. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korea Conflict. He was a Life Member of the VFW, American Legion, Eagles, FOP, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Buckeye State Sheriff's Assoc. He worked for Armco Steel in the Maintenance Department for 40 years. Max is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia Smith McGlade; a daughter, Mary Beth (Charles) Tippie of Frazeysburg; two grandchildren, Heather Renee Tippie of Texas and Chase Ryan Tippie of Frazeysburg; brothers, James (Martha), Roger (Carol), Steve (Lynn) and Michael McGlade all of Zanesville. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Brennan of Zanesville; a brother-in-law, Robin Smith of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; and his loving pets, Jack and Sammy. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. Military Rd., Zanesville. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in The Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Tim Patton officiating with full military honors conducted by VFW Post #1058. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. |
