About A funeral service for Neil E. Henthorn, 73 of Heath will be held Thursday July 21, 2022 at 7pm in the Vensil & Chute Funeral Home – Newark Chapel 1850 West Main Street with Pastor Chip Rudin officiating. Military honors will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. prior to the service.

A visitation will be observed from 2pm-4pm & 5pm-7pm prior to the service.

Neil passed away peacefully Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Embassy of Newark. He was born November 12, 1948 in Parkersburg, WV to Ed and Mary (Baker) Henthorn.

Neil joined the U. S. Army following graduation from Zanesville High School in 1968. He retired after 42 years as a postal clerk at the Newark / Heath USPS. He was a long-time member of the Church of The Nazarene, in New Lexington and Newark. He enjoyed doing home projects, wood working, collecting sports cards and golf. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds fan.

Neil was a devoted husband for 50 years to his wife Twila. He is survived by his wife Twila (Kinney) Henthorn; sons, Phil Henthorn. Mark Henthorn both of Newark; grandson, Owen Henthorn; brother, James Henthorn of Zanesville; mother-in-law Goldie Kinney of New Lexington; brothers-in-law, Darwin (Darlene) Kinney of New Concord, Darren (Rebecca) Kinney of Melbourne, FL; several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews as well as his best friend, family dog “Reecy”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Henthorn; brother-in-law, Daryl Kinney.
