About | Myron Edson Thomas, age 67, of Zanesville, passed away Friday January 27, 2012 at The Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio. He was born June 25, 1944 in Zanesville to the late Evan and Bertha (Goodlive) Thomas. Myron was a graduate of Zanesville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 1058, American Legion, Amvets, D.A.V., and Eagles. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Military Honor Guard here in Zanesville. He was a heavy equipment operator and also owned Thomas Small Engine Hospital on Potts Lane in Zanesville for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas; a sister, Ruth McPherson; and an infant son, Bryan Thomas. He is survived by two sons: Troy (Lisa) Thomas and Brent (Becky) Thomas and their mother, Sally Hammer, all of Zanesville; three grandsons: Zach and Tyler Thomas and Dennis Hewitt; two granddaughters: Alyssa Waite and LaTrisha Hewitt; a great grandchild, Carter Chesnik; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Martha Stillion of Cambridge. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Zanesville with full military honors by V.F.W. Post 1058. |
