About | MARION: Norma Jean Stoneburner, 76, of Marion died early Saturday morning, August 8, 2009 at the Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She was born on February 22, 1933 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Arthur and Suzie Childers Thomas. Raised in Zanesville, Norma Jean was a graduate of Lash High School, class of 1951, and was a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). She was very proud of her work as a nurse's assistant and worked for Marion Manor for over 20 years. A woman of great faith, Norma Jean was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Very active Norma could be found walking all around her neighborhood. As a child she would walk for miles. Norma also loved to take photos. Most importantly Norma was remembered for her contagious laughter in which she had passed on to her son Joe. She will be missed by her three sons and their spouses, Mike and Sharon Stoneburner and their four children: Aron, Christopher, Tyler, and Cori all of Marion; Joe and Barb Stoneburner and their four children: Steven, Scott, Steph, and Sean all of Zanesville; Tom and Gail Stoneburner and their three children: Craig, Lisa, and Lelonie all of Hendersonville, Tennessee; seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Dean (Norma) Thomas of Zanesville; and three sisters, Ruth Niceswanger of Zanesville, Linda (Charlie) Warner of Galiopolis, and Anna Powers of Marion. Including her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny. The Stoneburner family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Richland Road Church of Christ, 535 Richland Rd., Marion, with Russell Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. |
