About | Panayotis “Pete” Pappas, 82 of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. He was born on July 30, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Gregory Pappas and Catherine (Sharpino) Pappas. Pete was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, ‘Life Giving Fountain’, in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio, for many years. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School and later received his bachelor’s degree in law and a Juris Doctorate degree from The Ohio State University. Pete taught business law at Wittenberg University for several years. He worked with the prosecutor in Springfield, Ohio, and maintained his own practice specializing in family law. After retiring, Pete became part-owner of the Lumi-Lite Candle Company. Pete loved his work and enjoyed restoring cars in his spare time. Most of all, he loved his family and helping people in his community. Pete is survived by his son, Zane (Allison) Pappas; 2 grandchildren: Soren and Greyson; niece, Natasha Pappas; nephew, George Pappas Jr.; cousin, Jimmy Monogioudis; and sister-in-law, Hilda Pappas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Verne (Bluestone) Pappas and brother, George Pappas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Convoy of Hope, disaster relief organization at convoyofhope.org Calling hours will be held on Friday October 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 12:00 PM with Fr. Isaac Williams officiating. Burial will conclude services at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio. |
