Patricia Louise Colbert, 88, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Pat was born Monday, August 3, 1936 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late John and Bessie Mildred (nee: McGee) Redman. On November 12, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Billy, whowas the love of her life and they made their home together and began raising their family. Early in their marriage while Billy was in the Army, they lived an interesting life in Brooklyn, New York. Then they resided in Reynoldsburg for 30 years and, following retirement, they moved back home to the Rosefarm area. Pat was a very active and creative person. She was an accomplished artist, creating many beautiful still life paintings which adore the walls of many establishments and homes. She was a member of the Zanesville Art Association and a local book club. Together with her husband Billy, Pat was a longtime Red Cross volunteer and she and Billy were called out to assist in many disaster situations such as hurricanes and the Attacks on 9/11. At home, she enjoyed bird watching and gardening. Pat and Billy were widely traveled and she was an avid cross country skier. Having a lovely singing voice, she was a member of the Rosefarm Church of Christ choir and Sounds of Faith Community Gospel Choir of Crooksville. Pat loved being a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family and, for a time, worked in the kitchen as a cook at the former Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville. Left behind to mourn her passing and carry on her legacy is her beloved husband of 69 years, Billy J. Colbert; her beloved daughters, Beth Thoma, Jill Golaszewski and Barbara ‘Jeannie’ (Ken) Estep; her adored grandchildren, Paul (Jenny) Thoma, Nicholas (Stephanie) Thoma, Katie Golaszewski, Kelly (Nick) Granger, Billy Golaszewski, Sarah Estep and Nathan Estep; her darling great-grandchildren, Stacey (Andrew) Fedykiv, Kyle Thoma, Nicholas (Kallie) Thoma, Cydney Thoma, Jackson Granger and Asher Pinkstock and cherished great great-grandchildren, Lucas Thoma and Annaliese Fedykiv. In addition to her parents, Pat will was received into eternity by her siblings, Dave Redman, Sally Redman, Mike Redman, Norene Sherril, Marilyn Hupp and Judy Redman. Pat’s legacy and memory will live on and on in those who knew and loved her bright and beautiful spirit and sense of adventure. Funeral services and a celebration of Pat’s amazing life will be held at 11 am, Friday, November 22 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor as celebrant. Following the services, she will be laid to rest in Crooksville Cemetery. |
