About | Patsy Lee Moore, age 84, of West Lafayette, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2015 surrounded by the love of her family. Born July 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Fern Shiplet of Zanesville, Ohio. Patsy was a graduate of (Lash) Zanesville High School, class of 1949. She later went on to bookkeeping school and continued to take college courses in accounting. She held various jobs in accounting and finance and was later hired as the treasurer for Coshocton County Career Center prior to its opening. Patsy retired in 1992 and at that time held dual positions as treasurer for the career center as well as the Coshocton County Board of Education. Patsy was very devoted to her family and her gentle spirit was always willing to help a person in need. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette where she sang in the choir, attended a women's Bible study, helped with support meals and vacation Bible school. Patsy was a member of the Land of Lakes Airstream Club and wrote their bi-monthly newsletter and worked in the hospitality room each year when the club attended the Sugarcreek Swiss Festival. She also loved to square dance and enjoyed meeting with her 49's classmates for their monthly breakfast or lunch. She and her daughter, Deborah, were long time fans of the singer, Engelbert Humperdinck and attended concerts in multiple states. Her daughter said it just wasn't the concerts, but also the quality time they spent together. Patsy is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Moore) Paul Mazur of Pataskala, Ohio; grandson, Joseph Mazur of Newark, Ohio, and granddaughter Stephanie (Mazur) and grandson-in-law Xavier Angeles of Newark, Ohio as well as four great-grandchildren Peyton, Anthony, Diego and Isabel. In addition Patsy leaves behind her step-sister, Sandra Corns of Zanesville, Ohio, and sister-in-laws June Markley of West Lafayette, Ohio, Marjeane Ridgeway of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Mary Shearrow of Dover, Ohio and Marjorie Moore of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Bill Moore and her brother Orrel Shiplet, who passed away at the age of 16, step-father, Adrian Pierce and step-sister Sherry Plants. The family wishes to thank the 4th floor nursing staff and Dr. Carver for the excellent care Patsy received during her hospitalization at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. In addition the family extends deep gratitude to all the staff at Lafayette Pointe for the excellent care and attention Patsy received as well as the incredible support given to the family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette, Ohio with Pastor David Kraft officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. |
