About | Patrick “Pat” Alan Connar, 66, passed peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 24, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Zanesville to the late Thomas “Bill” William Connar and Phyllis (Lovell) Connar LaPlante. Anyone who knew Pat regarded him as a wonderful, gentle, kind-hearted man. In his youth he was an outstanding athlete and football star. He was into the muscle car scene and motorcycles. Pat was a jack of all trades and a master mechanic. To some he was simply known as the “CAT Man” as he spent 46 years as a dedicated field service mechanic for Ohio CAT. To say he was a hard worker would be an understatement. Pat’s work ethic and dedication to job and family were unmatched. In his free time, he enjoyed dining out with his wife and family. You could typically find him in the garage tinkering. No job was too big or too small, and you could count on your hands how many times he relented to hiring someone to do the work he was capable of doing. He also stayed true to his first passions as he enjoyed cruising around in his old Camaro and was an avid dirt bike rider/racer well into his sixties. His trade, hobbies and retirement resulting in many subsets of friendships that he cherished and especially his McDonald’s breakfast crew near the end. Pat was very proud of his children and grandchildren and imparted love and knowledge at every opportunity. Pat Connar was a great man, husband and father. A humble servant, loved by all…..”May god shine his face upon him and grant him peace”. Surviving is his loving wife Sandy Williams Connar; two sons: Thomas Patrick (Christel) Connar and Casey Alan (Amber) Connar; a daughter Chelsea Renee (David Braunstein) Connar; two granddaughters: Taylor (Aaron) Perez and Ellory Grace Connar, who brought him so much joy; great granddaughter Evelyn Perez; two sisters: Carol Barnett and Barbara (Lenny) Hamilton; sister in law Barb (Jim) Fisher; mother in law Joan Williams; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
