About | Paul E. German, 80, of 621 St. Louis Ave., a retired school teacher, died at 3:05 am Saturday, November 28,1981, at Good Samaritan Medical Center where he had been a patient 10 days. He was born February 25, 1901, in Mt. Sterling, a son of Harry A. and Mary Elizabeth Mercer German. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. German taught in the Zanesville city school system 47 years before retiring in 1970. He received a bachelor's degree in education and a master's of fine arts at Ohio State University. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge 85, Zanesville Chapter 9, Zanesville Council 12, and Cyrene Commandry 10 of Knights Templar. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Thrall; a son, Edward R. of Winter Park, FL; a daughter, Mrs. Charles ( Ann) Stevens of Piqua; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Spangler of Laurel, MD. Burial will be in Mt. Sterling Cemetery. |
