About | Phyllis V. Laplante 93, of Bradenton passed away Thursday August 31, 2017. She was born February 8, 1924 in Sharpsburg, Ohio. She attended Oneco United Methodist Church faithfully until about 6 years ago. There she sang in the choir and participated in the Christian Women's Association. She attended church with either daughter, when able, after she moved out of her own home, so she is well known by their congregations at 53rd Avenue Church of Christ and Good Shepherd Church of the Brethren . Phyllis loved to play cards (especially bridge with her friends at Garden Lakes and Wood Park), listen to music, dance and was a very good golfer. She worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for almost 27 years in Zanesville, Ohio as an operator, then a service analyst. After retiring, she did a lot of traveling and volunteer work. She is survived by loving Children ….daughters Carol Barnett of Bradenton, Fl, Barbara Hamilton and husband Len Theriault of Bradenton, Fl and son Patrick Connar and wife Sandy of Zanesville, Ohio. Through them she has 13 grandchildren,14 great grand children, 7 great great grandchildren (including Laplante's and Hamilton's) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Flossie Lovell, and her siblings Lucille and husband Everett Jackson Sr, Kay and husband William'Bud' Bartley, and Richard Lovell and wife Ruth and two son-in-laws Ronald Hamilton and Mark Barnett. Also preceded by two veteran husbands Thomas Wm Connar and Walter E LaPlante. |
