About | Bradenton - Raymond G. Jones of Bradenton passed away Friday April 6, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born October 13, 1938 in Zanesville Ohio. Raymond worked for National Cash Register for 37 years. He took pride in fixing various types of cash registers as technology changed and advanced. He received his education in his hometown of Zanesville and furthered his studies at the DeVry Institute of Technology. Ray loved tinkering in his garage and for a time had a successful business fixing old fishing reels. His interests included fishing, figuring out how anything mechanical was put together, and enjoying the hot Florida summers. He also enjoyed trips to Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, Indiana and England to visit family. Ray was a veteran who served honorably in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion 309 Palmetto, and the Zanesville Jaycees. He is survived by his loving wife Christine; siblings Gary Jones, Wayne Jones, Beverly Gundelfinger; daughters Cherie Jones Carroll, Lisa (Scott) Slinkard; step-children David Male, Leah (Dean) Skipworth and Tracey (Kyle) Weirich; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Della and Harold Jones and brother Ronald J Jones. |
