About | Richard E. Lanning Sr. passed away at Adams Lane Care Center on August 21st at the age of 79 in his hometown of Zanesville Ohio. His battle with many medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life. Despite the pain, we could always get a crooked smile from him now and then, which we all so loved about him. In his earlier years, he was known for his artistic abilities with his paintings and drawings. He loved the simple things in life like music, playing his guitar, watching football games, fishing, and being outside talking with his neighbors, and spending time with friends and family. He was always willing to give a helping hand even if he didn't know how to do something. Those that knew him would agree he will be greatly missed. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Linda Glosser Lanning; children: Richard E. Lanning Jr., Cheryl (Dennis) Schultheis; grandchildren: Ryan (Raychelle) Steele, Cody (Kelly) Steele; great grandchildren: Ryder Steele; sister: Sally Dingey, brother-in-law Harold (Linda) Glosser, sister-in-law: Nancy (Bob) Bates, and numerous other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Frederick and Ethel Lanning; great grandson: Raylan Steele, siblings: Leonard (Sylvia) Lanning, Jack (Carol) Lanning, Ernie (Peggy) Williams, Wilbur Williams, Eloise (Jim) Scott, and brother-in-law: Jeffery Glosser. A private family service will be held at a later date. |
