About | Richard L. “Rick” Creeks Sr., 69, of Zanesville, died at 5:24 P.M. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at his home. He was born June 23, 1948 in Zanesville, a son of Wanda Stotts Creeks and the late Walter Creeks. Rick retired from AEP after 35 years of service. He went on to teach power lineman courses at C-Tech. He loved to fish, golf, was a former member of the American Legion but he especially enjoyed being involved in all his grandchildren’s activities. Surviving in addition to his mother is his loving wife of 49 years, Laurel Lyne Evec Creeks, whom he married August 3, 1968; a daughter, Shannon (Rick) Pickrell; a son, Richard (Jodi) Creeks Jr.; three grandchildren, Jacob, McKenzie and Claire; three sisters, Joan (Bill) Pletcher, Teresa (Bill) Paynter and Becky White; four brothers, David (Glenna) Creeks, Mike (Debbie) Creeks, Tommy (Pam) Creeks and Jeff (Stephanie) Creeks; close friends, John Bates and Bunk Strauss; and many additional friends and family. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two nephews, Nathan Paynter and Charlie Creeks and close friend, Bill Parrish. Friends and family may call from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 with William Meaige officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville with full military rites being accorded to him by the U.S. Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29. |
