About | Robbie L. Murray, 51, was called home Oct. 26, 2008, following a long illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1957, in Merced, Calif. Mr. Murray resided in Columbus and previously in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a 1975 graduate of Zanesville High School and served in the U.S. Navy for two years and was currently employed with Showcase Resorts of Las Vegas. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Ann Ransom; son, Kyle Murray of Zanesville; grandchildren, Mya and Mahki Murray of Zanesville; grandmothers, Marion Ransom of Zanesville and Arlene Martin of Uhrichsville; four brothers, Ronald (Tammy) Murray of Columbus, William Gibson of Columbus, Kelly Gibson of Zanesville and Franco (Damitria) Gibson of Maryland; four sisters, Stephanie Murray of Columbus, Felicia (Kevin) Reid of Wichita Falls, Texas, Stacy (Sarjo) Jammeh of Columbus and Tracy Charlton of Columbus; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Murray; brother, Robert Murray; and grandfathers, Charles Murray and Ralph Ransom . Robbie loved to fish, watch the Browns and the Buckeyes. Most of all, he loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Calling hours will begin at 11 a.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at the Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St. Monty Blue will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
