About | Robert 'Bob' Eugene Winn MURRIETA, Calif. - Robert Eugene Winn passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, at the age of 79. Bob was born June 16, 1928, in Zanesville, to Kenneth B. and Alice T. Winn. He spent the majority of his early life residing in Zanesville, where he graduated from Lash High School in 1946. In September 1946, Bob entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Pusan, Korea. He was honorably discharged in January 1948. Upon returning to Zanesville, he re-entered Muskingum College, New Concord, and completed his studies graduating in 1950 with a bachelor of arts degree. Bob began his 33-year career with National Cash Register Co. (NCR) in 1952. He retired from NCR in 1985 and began a second career with United Group Associates (UGA) and retired in 1996 to Murrieta, Calif. Bob was a member of the Masonic Fraternity of Ohio, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd degree and a member of the Shriners of North America. He is survived by his wife, Karen Mae Winn; brother, James R. Winn of Las Vegas, Nev.; sons, R. Gregory Winn of Sparta, N.J., Douglas G. Winn of Everett, Wash., and Kevin E. Winn of Canyon Lake, Calif.; his daughter, Catherine M. Tarquini of San Marcos, Calif.; his 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Mercer Winn; his parents, Kenneth B. and Alice T. Winn; his sisters, Elaine Moseley and Janice Podmajersky. Interment will be in Pacific View Memorial Park, Newport Beach, Calif., in a private family service. A celebration honoring Bob's life will be held May 31, 2008, at the residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Los Angeles Unit, 3160 Geneva Street, Los Angeles 90020, in memory of Robert E. Winn.
