About | Robert Charles Terry, 87, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 12:45 am Sunday, October 31, 2004, at Genesis Extended Care and Rehab Center. He was born September 28, 1917, in Muskingum County, the son of the late Ralph C. and Lulu Wagner Terry. Mr. Terry was retired from Landmark of Columbus, Ohio, as an area controller, a graduate of Lash High School and Meredith College. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity, No. 5 F & AM, and also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, the Amrou Grotto Lodge No. 45 and the Alladin Temple Shrine of Columbus. He enjoyed flying and received his pilot's license in April 1963 and his commercial pilot's license in November 1964. He flew until August 1992, at which time he lost his flight medical. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter No. 425 and was a four year veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Katheryn A. Scarpella Terry of the home: two stepsons, Larry Gatewood of Birmingham, AL and Terry Gatewood of Ft. Myers, FL; a son-in-law, Kelly L. Ryan of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Cole and Clay Ryan and Todd Gatewood; and two great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was prededed in death by a daughter, Jodi Terry Ryan, on April 15, 1998. Funeral sevices will be held at 1 pm today, Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at Bolen funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio, with Pastor Sam Greening officiating.
