About | Robert E. Slack, 81, of New Concord passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on September 23, 1939 in Zanesville, Ohio. He is the son of the late Paul W. and Goldie E. (Brown) Slack. Bob was a retired powerline-man for Ohio Power, a teacher for the American Line Builders Association (where he taught the first ALBAT class in the United States), a machine tooling teacher at the vocational school, a manager for Stockdale Mine Supply, and a farmer. Bob was a very talented and gifted man but most especially he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loreita (Cubbison) Slack, whom he married July 21, 1962; his sons, Jay (Kim) Slack and Troy (Terri) Slack; his grandchildren, Grant, Tanner, Lyndi, Barton, and Clayton; his siblings, Paul (Irene) Slack, Mary Jane (Bill) Kirkbride, and Martha Jarrett. A private funeral service will be held at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. Pastor Lisa Kropinak will officiate the service. Bob will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. |
