Robert R. (Rusty) McPeek went to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. He was born May 5, 1946 to Charles W. and Bonnie J. McPeek. He was a 1964 graduate of Zanesville High School, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, and was previously employed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (Grandville Post), The Limited, Inc., Newark Air Force Base, and retired from Keesler Air Force Base in Gulfport, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Patricia (Fisher) McPeek, his mother Bonnie Jean McPeek, three children, Ian and Kyle McPeek, and Eric Clendenin (Deandra), two grandchildren, Keegan and Rowan Clendenin, his former wife Connie (Basehart) McPeek, three brothers, Charles McPeek (Jeanne), P. Douglas McPeek, Kevin McPeek (Cindy), two sisters, Melody Hotchkiss, and M. Kandi Roush (Fred), as well as many nieces and nephews and three very special friends Jim Sayre, Terry Nichols, and Randy Embree . In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Frances and Iva (Untied) McPeek, John and Mary (Urban) Williams and two nephews, Charles W. McPeek III and Jackson McPeek. Memorial Services with Military Honors from Local VFW Post 1058 will be held at Coburn United Methodist Church Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the Pastor Doris Flynn officiating. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery on Military Rd. Zanesville. A memorial service was held November 30, 2008 at First United Methodist Church Dallas. At Rusty's request, in lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, 1928 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75201, in memory of Robert (Rusty) McPeek for Crossroads Community Services.
