About | Roberta “Bobbie” Jean Gonder , 85 of Zanesville died at 11:44 AM Tuesday July 25th at the Oaks at Bethesda following a lengthy courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born on July 8, 1932 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of Carl C. Rittberger Jr. and Helen Louise Myers. “Bobbie” was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was employed most of her life as a book keeper for Rittberger Brothers, then Hamilton & Priest Accountants; and later with O.K. Coal & Concrete. She volunteered for many years with the Genesis Pro Am golf tournament and very much enjoyed golfing & playing cards. She is survived by her two children; Debbie West and Mike (Judy) Gonder both of Zanesville; 4 grandchildren, Matt West, Nathan West, Jared (Bailee) Gonder and Wesley Gonder, and a great granddaughter, Abigail Rose West, on her way.; her siblings, Bea Brown, Sue McCullough, Shirley (Warren) Van Wye, Ted (Jan) Rittberger and numerous nieces & nephews. “Bobbie” was preceded in death by her parents & her husband, John A. Gonder. Friends may call 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on South 7th St., Zanesville, with the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will conclude at the Williams Cemetery, Jersey Ridge Rd. Memorial contributions can be made to The Falls Township Fire Department; or the Genesis Healthcare Foundation to either the John Gonder Memorial Scholarship Fund or The Genesis Parkinson’s Support Group. |
