About Rose Marie Watson Morris, 76, died November 27, 2006, at First Community Village.

She was born in Zanesville, the daughter of Rose Alberta Watson and William G. Watson, one-time mayor of Zanesville. She was a graduate of Lash High School in 1948 and Ohio University, and she attended The Ohio State University, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She taught sixth grade at Ritchey Elementary School, was a lobbyist for the Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives and an employee of the Department of Education. Rose Marie served as state secretary for the National Organization of Women and was very active in the Democratic party politics. She was an assistant to Secretary of State Anthony J. Celebrezze Jr., and was a legislative aide to two state senators. Rose Marie was an accomplished water colorist who enjoyed world travel, reading and bridge.

Surviving are children, Barbara (John) Morris Linser of Cincinnati; Robert (Lynda) V. Morris II; Elizabeth Morris and William (Holley) Morris, all of Columbus; one sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Raymond; and brothers, William (Patricia) and John (Susan) Watson all of Zanesville; 12 grandchildren;and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her former husband, Robert V. Morris.
