About | CAMPBELL, CA: Roxann Lee Fomenko, 59, of Campbell, Ca. was finally released from the earthly bonds of multiple sclerosis on January 5, 2013 at her home. Half of her life was a struggle dealing with the continuous debilitation that multiple sclerosis brings. Roxann was born July 2, 1953 in Zanesville, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Peter and Lola (Stephenson) Fomenko. She was a graduate of Zanesville High school and attended Ohio University. Most of her life she lived and worked in California. Also hiked and camped on Maui, and lived in the Haight in San Francisco. Her jobs, varied and interesting, included being a winery hostess and a female UPS delivery person. Later, Roxann was a facilitator for MS support groups, inserting her own brand of humor, which many admired, given the limitation imposed on her by MS. She was an avid lover of life, her family, and her pets. She enjoyed nature, music, books, and music. She followed the news daily. Roxann is survived by her sister, Nancy Fomenko and her brother in law, Jack Wycoff, of Campbell, Ca. and her sister, Linda (Richard) Calland of Zanesville; several nephews, Lee Hoffman, Peter Hoffman, Jim Calland, and Charles Calland; and two nieces, Julianna Fomenko and Samantha Calland; many cousins; two special friends, Maribel Madlaing and Consuelo Balanta, who were tireless aides supporting her health and happiness; and favorite feline companions, Jasmine and Hairy, who provided much material for a humorous view of life. In keeping with her wishes, her body will be donated to the MS Society for research and later cremated. She always wanted to help those who were also afflicted with this terrible disease, MS. Please consider a memorial contribution to the MS Society www.mscenter.com in her name. No calling will be observed, and a remembrance gathering will be held in California at a later date. |
