About | Roy B. Worstall, age 89 of Zanesville, died at 5:15 pm Friday March 27, 2009 at Autumn Healtcare Center of Zanesville. He was born Feb. 6, 1920 in Zanesville and was the son of the late Stewart B. and Leona Heagen Worstall. Roy was a WWII Army Air Force veteran. He received his B.A. degree from Muskingum College in 1937 and worked in sales and consultations for Columbia Cement Co. After his retirement from Columbia Cement, he continued to work in the field by forming his own business, Worstall Concrete Consulting. Roy was a member of St. James Episcopal Church where he served as a lay reader for many years. He was a member of the Lodge of Amity No. 5 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, where he was Past Master: Muskingum Chapter No. 485 Order of the Eastern Star, where he was Past Patron; Zanesville Chapter No. 9 of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, where he was Past High Priest; Zanesville Council No. 12 of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, where he was Past ILL Master; Cyrene Commandery No. 10 of Knights Templar of Ohio, where he was Past Em. Commander; Ohio Priory No. 18, Knights of the York Cross of Honor; he was a 33rd degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Cambridge; Rosa Shrine No. 8 of the order of The White Shrine of Jerusalem, where he was a Past Watchman of the Sheppard and Past Supreme Watchman of the Sheppard; Aladdin Temple of Shrine; past president of Zavi Shrine Club of Zanesville; Zanesville Council No. 62 of Knights Masons of Ireland, and was Past Royal Patron of Zane Court No. 62 Order of the Amaranth. Surviving is his wife, Edna Loujuana "Lou" Roberts Worstall. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary this past Monday, March 23rd; also surviving is a granddaughter, Lynn K. (Fred) McNutt of Zanesville; great grandchildren, Amy Nicole McNutt, Brandon Douglas McNutt, and Dalton Roy McNutt; a brother, Robert H. (Marge) Worstall of Akron; a niece, Terrie (Bob) Newland of Akron; a nephew, Robert S. (Sue) Worstall of Akron; and several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Ann Worstall Souder who died Nov. 18, 2004; two aunts, Ruth Heagen Patton and Sara Heagen Barnes; and an uncle, John Heagen. In honor and celebration of Roy's life, the family will receive friends from 3 - 7 p.m. Wednesday April 1, 2009 at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Masonic services will begin at 7 pm followed by the White Shrine of Jerusalem service. A private family committal service will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. |
