About | Russell L. Hissam, 75, of 535 Taylor St., died at 6:10pm, Saturday, September 29, 1990 at Hospice of Good Samaritan Cancer Center of Southeast Ohio. Mr. Hissam had been a resident of this area since 1930, was a former president of Southeast Ohio Air Service, Manager of Zanesville Municipal Airport, past directior of First National Bank, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, president of the Aviation trades Association of Ohio, past president of Ohio Airport Management Association, charter member and past governor of the Quiet Birdman, the Professional Pilots Association, Lafayette Lodge No. 79 F & AM, former member of Zanesville Rotary, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral, Florida. Born October 5, 1914, in Little, WV, he was a son of Truman T. and Effie C. (Haught) Hissam. Surviving are his wife, Violet M. (Mathews) Hissam, whom he married April 29, 1941; two daughters, Sue Ann Smith of Thornville and Marilyn Kay Church of Westervile; two sons, Don L. Hissam of Ft. Myers, FL and Robert L. Hissam of Zanesville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald S. Hissam of Zanesville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Layman Hissam. Burial will be in Memoriual Park. |
