| About | Daughter of Albert and Ellouise Addison. Married Adrian Sarbaugh. Had 2 daughters, Barbara Sarbaugh Drake and Cecilia Sarbaugh Farmer. Mrs. Ruth Sarbaugh, 49, secretary to the city service director, died suddenly at 9 am this morning at Bethesda of a blood clot. Mrs. Sarbaugh had entered the hospital last Wednesday for an operation thursday. Since that time she had been improving and this morning had eaten her breakfast and had gotten into a chair. She died a few minutes later. She was born in the city on November 10, 1904, the daughter of Albert and Ellouise Wilcox Addison. She had lived here entire life. She was the widow of Adrian Sarbaugh, who died November 17, 1950. Mrs. Sarbaugh started to work at the service director's office in April 1951, under Sercice Director Bernard Dunmead and retained the post under the change of administration when Sherman Johnson became mayor. She also served as secretary to the city board of purchase. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and Eastern Star lodge No. 485. Surviving are two daughter; Mrs. Eldon Drake of 540 1/2 Ball Street and Miss Cecelia Kay Sarbaugh of the home and two sisters, Mrs. Emmett Wells of Newark and Mrs. Cecil Taylor of Canton. |
