| About | Ruth E. Thompson, age 86 of Zanesville died 8:10 PM, Friday, September 21, 2018 at Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville. She was born Wednesday, December 9, 1931 in Zanesville, the daughter of Elbert Ralph Collins and Hannah Ella (Beckley) Collins. She was married on Monday, March 17, 1952 to James H. Thompson who preceded her in death on Friday, December 17, 2010. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion and having lunch with her sisters. She is survived by two sons, Mike (Barbara) Thompson of Zanesville and Pat Thompson of Largo, FL; two granddaughters, Stacey (John) Unklesbay of Zanesville and Jessica Thompson of FL; two great grandsons, Adam and Joey of Zanesville; two sisters, Charlene Maxwell and Anna Mae Jones all of Mt. Sterling. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Collins; two sisters, Maxine Gorman and Helen McGee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name the Trinity E Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 South Seventh Street, Zanesville or Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church,120 South Seventh Street, Zanesville with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. Burial will conclude in the Zanesville Memorial Park Zanesville. |
