About | MESA, AZ: Ruth Janelle Paxton, 80, of Mesa, AZ passed away September 30, 2012 due to stroke. Preceded in death by her parents, Herbert V. and Lucille (Walker) Adcock; and her sister, Jean L. Meredith. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry G. Paxton, Mesa, AZ; daughter Deborah Sterkowitz of Delaware, OH; grandson Andrew K. Sterkowitz (Megan) of Gilbert, AZ; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Paxton was born in Logan, OH where her father and brother owned and operated the Logan Home Dairy. Mrs. Paxton graduated from Lash High School, Zanesville, and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio Univ. Mrs. Paxton spent much of teaching career in the Hamilton Local School District. She retired and moved with her husband to AZ in 1986. Mrs. Paxton was a Duncan Certified Instructor and was a talented ceramicist. A celebration of life will be held at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, Mesa, AZ on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. Friends and family can send a donation in lieu of flowers to St. Benedict Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ. |
