| About | Marjorie "Ruth" Mahaffey, 85, of Logan, Ohio passed away June 15, 2012 at Logan Health Care Logan, Ohio. She had previously resided at the Carlin House for the past 4 years. Ruth was born September 21, 1926 in Bridgeville, Ohio to Ray W. Francis and Verna Campbell Francis. She graduated from High School in Zanesville; was a, 50 plus year member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Logan; retired from Logan City Schools, as a cook for Union Furnace Elementary School; and owned Don & Ruth's Pottery for many years. Ruth and Don touched many lives through foster parenting and their service to their church. Surviving are her sons, Mike and Vickie Mahaffey, Mark and Debby Mahaffey, Danny and Darlene Mahaffey, and Jay and Pam Mahaffey, all of Logan; grandchildren, Erin, Shannon, Chelsea, Kevin, Tyler (Heather), Chris, Kyle (Aimee), Nick, Daniel, Matthew (Melissa), Amanda (Dustin) and Alex; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorotha Irene Butler of Zanesville; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Donald D. Mahaffey, who passed away June 26, 2008; and sister, Pauline Coombs. Entombment will be in Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge, Ohio. |
