About S. Geneva Hicks, a life long resident of Muskingum County, passed away October 11, 2016.

Born March 9, 1926 at Bethesda Hospital, she was the daughter of Ernest J. and Florence B. (Lanning) Soller.

A 1944 graduate of Lash High School, Geneva started a 45 year career with The National Cash Register Co. (NCR Corp.) working part time during her junior and senior years of high school.

Geneva was only the second woman at NCR to become an Office Manager. The title was later changed to Administrative Branch Manager. In 1967 Geneva was one of only six women NCR Administrative Branch Managers in the entire United States. All six were invited to NCR Dayton World Headquarters to tour the factory and facilities. They were honored and recognized for this new era of women management in the historic Horseshoe Room at NCR Dayton. In 1971 Geneva and her staff received the NCR Highest Branch Audit Rating in the United States for superior efficiency and went on to become a five time winner of this highest rating. Geneva received the Outstanding Administrative Employee Award for 1987 and 1988. She received eight consecutive Perfect Attendance Awards.

Geneva was a 78 year member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Olive Branch Chapter #251, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Rosa Shrine #8, Past Worthy High Priestess in 1992, Order of the Amaranth, Zane Court #36 and the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Aladdin Center, Columbus.

Geneva and her husband, the late Robert Hicks, were married 64 years and seven months. They had one son, Ronald (Vicki) Hicks. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6:15-8:15 on Wednesday, October 19 at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, who is in charge of the arrangements. Eastern Star, Olive Branch Chapter #251 service will be at 5:45 followed by White Shrine service at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20 at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Rev. Tom England officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
