| About | Sandra M. Gormley Schwartzmiller, 51, of Zanesville died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, following a three-year courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 30, 1956, in Zanesville. She was a proud Salutatorian Summa Cum Laude graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, class of 2004. Sandra was employed as an auditor with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. She enjoyed golf, jewelry making, gardening, travel and loved animals. She is survived by her husband, Dale Schwartzmiller, whom she married on July 29, 1978; her son, Samuel Schwartzmiller of Zanesville; her mother, Mary (Harold) Britt Fraunfelter of Zanesville; a brother, Thomas (Gloria) Gormley of Malta; sisters, Sally (Don) Hecker of Chandlersville, Peg (John) Echols of Charlottesville, Va., and Kathy (Mark) Clapper of Zanesville; a brother-in-law, John Gutridge; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Jasmine and Floyd. She was preceded in death by her father. Thomas Adrian Gormley; and a sister Susan Gutridge. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. A private family memorial will be held at a later date at Sandra's favorite retreat in Cape Hatteras, N.C.
