About | Sarah Jane Thomas (Sally), 75, of Zanesville passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born September 10, 1946 to Bob (Baldy) and Virginia Covert and was a life-long resident of Zanesville. Sally had a passion for children, which involved a number of years running an at home daycare and volunteering countless hours at McKinley Elementary, regarding each of the children as her own. The loves of Sally’s life were her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. She lived for seeing sporting events, recitals, graduations, and accomplishments, but mostly just being in the presence of friends and family. Sally was very proud of the legacy she gave this world through her family. She provided an ear for her family and a soft place to fall without judgement. Sally had a wicked sense of humor and could trade humorous jabs with anyone who dared step into that space. She will also be remembered for her love of Ohio State Football. Although quiet about her faith, Sally expressed faith in Jesus. She is survived by her children Ginnie (Todd) Schlosser, Bill Thomas, Rhonda (Ed) Holdsworth, and Alan Thomas; three siblings Harriett (Jim) Dalton, Susie (Steve) Roberts, and Bill (Dawn) Covert; along with grandchildren Tony (Amista) Mohr, Alec Schlosser, Kelsey (Eric) Gheen, Andrea Schlosser, and Nick (Courtney) Thomas. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless others who knew her as Grandma Sally. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ed Covert and Bob Covert. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Kidney Care Zanesville who cared for Sally as well. |
