| About | LOUISVILLE, KY: Sharon 'Rosie' (Norman) Lopes, 64 of Louisville, KY formerly of Zanesville, died 4:37 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville following a lengthily illness with emphysema. She was born Monday, October 28, 1946 in Zanesville, the daughter of Harly Dalton and Lucy M. Norman. She married John Lopes on Saturday, February 1, 1969 and was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Louisville. Rosie was a graduate of Zanesville High School and a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She loved being a nurse and taking care of older people. Rosie enjoyed reading, genealogy, painting ceramics, writing poetry, playing the lottery and going to the casinos. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Rosie is survived by her husband of the home; one son, John D. (Rachael) Lopes and one daughter, Tisha R. Lopes both of Louisville, KY; her mother, Lucy M. Norman of Zanesville; three brothers, Terry (Kim) Norman, Tony (Jackie) Norman and Phillip (Kathy) Norman all of Zanesville; one sister, Debra S. (Ron) McKelvey of Martinsburg, WV; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Rosie was preceded in death by her father. Burial will be in Malta Cemetery. |
