| About | I Heaven’s angels were singing as Sharon “Sherry” Sue Paxson Tinnell gained her heavenly mansion on September 7, 2026. Sherry was the daughter of the late Robert Eugene (Julia Moore) Paxson and the late Bernice Dusenberry (Ray) Huffman and was born on August 9, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio. She was raised by her parents and her late grandparents, Earl Floyd and Lillian Tigner Paxson, in Zanesville. Sherry attended school at Lincoln Elementary, Hancock Junior High, and graduated from Zanesville High School in 1967. Sherry was employed in banking for all of her career in both Zanesville and the Daytona Beach area where she has resided since 1979. She retired from Truist Bank. She was a member of the American Legion Post #120, in Holly Hill, Florida and VFW Post #1590 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Melinda Dawn Reed Pennett, of Palm Coast, Florida, and her son, Shawn Paul (Kimberly Ann) Reed of Port Orange, Florida. She has four grandchildren, Robert Phillip (Rachel Marie) Pennett of Jacksonville, Florida: Jenna Michelle Pennett of Palm Coast, Connor Ayers, and Evelyn Grace Reed of Port Orange, Florida. She has one great-grandson, Luke Stephen Pennett of Jacksonville, Florida. She has one sister and two brothers, Amanda (Jason) Paxson Hayes, James (Dawn Carpenter) Paxson, and Daniel (Tina Earny) Paxson of Zanesville, Ohio. She has a step-sister, Theresa Huffman Caw of Sonora, Ohio Her husband Stephen Tinnell predeceased her in March, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the American Legion in Holly Hill, Florida. Friends and family may leave comments or memorials in Sharon’s name to the American Legion. |
