She was born January 19, 1948 in Zanesville, a daughter of Herbert Shinn and Yvonne (Wheeler) Shinn. She was a 1966 graduate of Zanesville High School. She was a homemaker and worked for The Longaberger Company for many years. Sheila was a wonderful, caring Mom, aunt, sister and friend to all who knew her. She took great pride in gardening and working in the yard. Her home was her sanctuary and she received much joy and comfort in the care and upkeep of her home.

Her long bout with cancer never lessened her will to survive -nor did she let it diminish her strong spirit and intense determination to overcome and prevail. She will be remembered for her spirit & spunk and her kindness and generosity she displayed to all on her journey. Her contagious laugh and bright smile would brighten anyone's day.

She was preceded in death by William L. Watson, and her late husband Gene Erickson and her dear sister Starla Hutcheson. Her Mother, Father and maternal grandparents, Elton and Helen Wheeler.

Surviving are her children Billy (Amy) Watson (Dresden, OH) and Jennifer (Kris) Watson Bowers (Baltimore, OH). Two grandchildren-Braxton Watson and Angelica Bowers. Her sister Shandy (Shinn) Williams (Zanesville, OH) and three special nephews-Chad Welch, Billy Hutcheson and Keith Hutcheson. Three step daughters and many aunts, uncles and cousins she's kept close to her heart.

Her children will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 2-6 P.M with a Celebration of Life gathering to be held at the VFW Hall: 1318 Putnam Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to The American Cancer Society. www.cancer.org

The children wanted to share their Father's poem he wrote years ago while in Vietnam and it was passed along to Sheila and his children. Do not be discouraged

Do not be afraid

Keep your chin up high

You've almost got it made.

Forget about yesterday

With all it's trials and sorrows

Today is what counts most,

God will take care of tomorrow

Sometimes he gives us pain,

So we will appreciate our health.

Sometimes he give us povety,

So we'll remember our health.

So if he gives us sorrow,

Pain and all the rest to

excess.

He said he'd help us bear it,

In closing I'll say "God bless"
