About | Shirley C. Williams, age 80, of Scio, OH, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 in Heath, Ohio, at the home of Misti Black. She was born April 8, 1937 in Zanesville, to the late Tracie Harvey and Wealthy James Christian. She is a 1955 graduate of Zanesville High School. Shirley retired from Zandex after 23 years of service. She also worked at Clay House for 7 years and did private housework for the Landkrohns for 16 years. She is survived by children, Vincent W. (Debbie) Christian, Michael A. (Jill) Beauford, Ray (Valentina) Christian, Caye Christian, Darryl Christian, Selina (Hamid) Safari and Robin (Chad) Wilkins; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving grandmother Carrie Cunningham; siblings, Carrie Palmer, Jerusha Rush, Virginia Christian, and Robert “Bobby” Christian and Hilda Christian. Shirley was a wonderful woman of God. She loved serving the Lord and being an ambassador for Christ. She volunteered with the Young Lives program, was a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and a Deaconess at her church, Union Baptist, where she was a faithful member. Shirley spent some time working for Burrell Funeral Services as a greeter, where she will be greatly missed. You may call on the family Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11 a.m., also at Burrell Funeral Services. Reverand Raleigh Ragland officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. |
